Q: What does ActiveGroup do?

Q: What are the minimum System Requirements?

A:  

For PC-based attendees:

  • Internet Explorer® 5.0 or newer, Netscape® 6.0 or newer, Mozilla® Firefox® 1.0 or newer (JavaScript™ and Java™ enabled)
  • Windows® 2000, XP, 2003 Server
  • Stable 120k, cable modem, ISDN, DSL, or better Internet connection
  • Minimum of Pentium® 400 MHz with 356 MB of RAM (recommended)



For Macintosh®-based attendees:

  • Safari™ 1.3 or newer, Firefox® 1.5 or newer on PowerPC G3/G4/G5, Firefox 1.5.0.2 or newer on Intel® (JavaScript™ and Java™ enabled)) Mac OS® X 10.3.9 (Panther) or newer)
  • PowerPC G3/G4/G5 or Intel processor (G4 450 MHz with 256 MB of RAM or better recommended)
  • Stable 120k, cable modem, ISDN, DSL, or better Internet connection

 

*Connections AG currently requires Windows Media Player for PC'S or "Flip for Mac" for Mac users.

Q: I can see how Connections AG video streaming will save on travel costs and time. How do we get started?

A: It’s easy. Schedule your facilities and plan your qualitative project as usual.  Then, book your Connections AG event to correspond with your research days. Contact our sales department at 800-793-3126, by e-mail (sales@activegroup.net) or complete the online form  at www.activegroup.net/booking to set up your Connections AG account and project.

Q: Can we still use Connections AG for video streaming if the facility doesn’t have ActiveGroup equipment?

A: Yes, you can use Connections AG at non-partner or non-traditional facilities. ActiveGroup will assess the location to make sure it can support our broadcast requirements. We handle all the details including shipping, setup and support via our AG Portable service.  Before you book a site, check our list of sites at HERE. You may find an ActiveGroup-equipped site already present in that market.

Q: How does the use of Connections AG affect the way our events are conducted?

A: From the perspective of respondents and clients, it doesn’t.  Connections AG doesn’t change how you do research, what information you gather, or how you interact with participants. Our video streaming product works behind the scenes to help you eliminate barriers to participation, reduce costs, and collect more useful information. That helps you offer more value to your clients, too.

Q: Can we communicate with one another and the moderator during a Connections AG event?

A: Yes, observers can collaborate during an event through chat and document sharing. If you would like to “pass a note” to the moderator, you can communicate with on-site colleagues who can communicate with the moderator in the room. And if no one is on site? No problem. Our Customer Support group will relay information to the facility.

Q: What if there are problems during an event? How are ActiveGroup events supported?

A: Our products require little more than a common browser, Adobe Flash and a broadband Internet connection (Connections AG also requires Windows Media Player), reducing the likelihood you will have issues. When problems do arise, we provide complete support of all events with multiple means of contact before, during and after events. Respondents can test their connections prior to an event and receive assistance from our dedicated customer support staff by phone, e-mail, or live chat.

Q: I’ve seen comparable products for online research. How are ActiveGroup products different?

A: We are different in several ways. ActiveGroup products are designed specifically to serve the needs of market research professional. Our custom-built tools are not based on repurposed conferencing products. We’ve engineered our suite of research solutions to be easy for everyone to use. Q: How do we recruit respondents for online qualitative projects?

A: ActiveGroup works with a network of partners to help you recruit qualified respondents for your projects. 

Q: Who provides webcams and headsets for the respondents in Extensions VG sessions?

A: ActiveGroup will coordinate the distribution of webcams and headsets for a small fee per respondent.
