What It Is & How It Works
ActiveTranscripts are textual transcripts that directly link to the video of your groups or interviews. Here's how it works: 
You no longer have to wait for a transcriptionist to receive tapes of your sessions and email you the transcripts a week after the event is over. You can now get your preference of transcripts in 48 to 72 hours after your event. All transcripts are ActiveNotes-compatible. You can click on any line in the transcript and the video of that moment appears on the screen. You can create video clips of any transcript items you like. You can save the ActiveTranscript file as a Microsoft Word document. You have all of the functionality of Word (sorting, changing fonts, and searching) but you can still access the video and create the clips from the Word document.
What's in an ActiveTranscript
ActiveTranscripts come in two different versions--Edited-Summarized or Verbatim. Here’s the difference:
Edited-Summarized—Edited-summarized transcripts contain the "meat" of the session. Edited-summarized transcripts eliminate extra words, unfinished sentences, and irrelevant tangents. Our highly-trained transcriptionists add punctuation, but do not change respondent comments. Short identifying phrases or key words placed in parenthesis and highlighted using bold, caps, and italics distinguish directions, instructions and exercises. The transcriptionists indicate in parenthesis when one or more respondents agree with a thought. These transcripts yield around 18-25 pages for a 2 hour focus group.
Verbatim—Verbatim transcripts include exact conversation. The transcriptionists do not eliminate extra words, unfinished sentences, and irrelevant tangents and make several attempts at deciphering inaudible comments. These transcripts yield around 60-100 pages for a 2 hour focus group.

To access your ActiveTranscripts anytime over the 30 days following your event, you need:
- ActiveGroup videostreaming for your event
- A broadband Internet connection
- Microsoft Media Player (version 7 or higher)
- Macromedia Flash player (version 7 or higher)
